Books published in the Popular Series are intended for the general reader. The language is edited to be friendly to non-professional archaeologists.
The Occasional Papers is an edited and refereed series focusing on archaeological research carried out by Brigham Young University. These texts are intended for a professional audience and tend to be quite technical.
The New World Archaeological Foundation is an archaeological research and teaching entity administered by the Department of Anthropology at Brigham Young University. The research focus is the study of the origins and subsequent trajectory of civilization (complex societies) in the New World with special emphasis on Mesoamerica. Related to that study is the dissemination of findings through the NWAF Papers and other professional outlets.
