He first served as pastor at the Dexter Avenue Baptist Church in Montgomery\, Alabama and then later became co-pastor\, along with his father\, of the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta\, Georgia. \n\n\nIn addition to being a center of worship\, what has been the role in the Black Church in the fight for equal rights?
